ArcGIS: Database Connections and the Personal Geodatabase

This two-hour, online, instructor-led, interactive seminar covers how to create a database connection in ArcCatalog to pull information directly from your CAD or RMS system. We demonstrate how to create a Query Table and how to create a Personal Geodatabase to hold your queries. We also discuss how Personal Geodatabases can be used to contain your mapping projects.

Topics: working within ArcCatalog, database connections, ArcToolbox, make query table, table views, personal geodatabases, and MS Access.

Tuition: Tuition for this course is $45 and must be paid in advance to secure a place in the webinar. Tuition includes instruction and a $10 nonrefundable data processing fee. The tuition is on a per-person basis. Participants are on their honor to have only one person per tuition and per internet terminal.

Requirements: The student is required to have some experience with ArcGIS or ArcView and a basic understanding of what map layers are and how they are used and displayed in the software. It is helpful to have some basic understanding of how to pull data from police database systems. Each student should have a pencil or pen with a notebook handy for note-taking. It is up to the participant to make certain he or she can access the seminar website prior to the webinar scheduled time. When we confirm your registration, we will provide instructions and a test time for you to check your connection. We suggest having an IT person handy in case local administrator privileges are required. It is rare that someone would be unable to attend due to technical issues. If we cannot get this working for you, a full and complete refund will be issued. On Seminar day, please log into the webinar 10 minutes prior to start time to allow for any last-minute adjustments.
