ArcGIS: Creating Graduated Circle Hot Spot Maps using X,Y Coordinates

This two-hour, online, instructor-led, interactive seminar covers the process for creating a hot spot map using graduated circles to display concentrations of crime incidents. We discuss the many procedures you can use to create graduated circle maps and the reason why X,Y coordinates are used in this case. We will also show how to obtain X,Y coordinates if they are not present in your map layer and how to work with those coordinates to create the summaries.

Tuition: Tuition for this course is $45 and must be paid in advance to secure a place in the webinar. Tuition includes instruction and a $10 nonrefundable data processing fee. The tuition is on a per-person basis. Participants are on their honor to have only one person per tuition and per internet terminal.

Requirements: The student is required to have some experience with ArcGIS or ArcView and a basic understanding of what map layers are and how they are used and displayed in the software. Each student should have a pencil or pen with a notebook handy for note-taking. It is up to the participant to make certain he or she can access the seminar website prior to the webinar scheduled time. When we confirm your registration, we will provide instructions and a test time for you to check your connection. We suggest having an IT person handy in case local administrator privileges are required. It is rare that someone would be unable to attend due to technical issues. If we cannot get this working for you, a full and complete refund will be issued. On Seminar day, please log into the webinar 10 minutes prior to start time to allow for any last-minute adjustments.
